GrannyGranny
Rother valley is hardly romantic is it? I doubt if matlock bath has any, there's only the River Derwent and thats a little fast! Matlock has a little lake with boats but its for kids really.
iansheff
If you go to Matlock Bath there were rowing boats behind the mining museum last year.

HeadingNorth
Rother valley is hardly romantic is it? Being with my wife is romantic. Location is irrelevant.
alchresearch
This should do the trick, pair it up with a day roaming Chester: http://www.chesterboathire.co.uk/Chester%20Boat%20Hire/Home.html
Alcoblog
Thank you everybody for your suggestions. Still haven't found what I'm looking for though. Perhaps I need to buy a boat and take it somewhere nice! This represents too much effort though as I only have a week to get things organised. Other options are hang gliding or a helicopter. Unfortunately having a romantic picnic whilst doing these is very remote!
iansheff
From a mail I sent to a site about Matlock Bath. Can you still hire rowing boats at Matlock Bath? To the best of our knowledge you can still hire rowing boats from near the Pavilion in Matlock Bath.
