Plug
URBAN GORILLA & CARGO present.... SASHA SWAYZAK Adam Connal & Jonny Townsend Paul Growns & Chris Moore http://www.myspace.com/djsasha http://www.myspace.com/swayzak http://www.urban-gorilla.co.uk/ June 19th sees another monster Saturday night at Plug as once again one of the world’s best DJs touches down behind the decks. We’re very happy to once again bring you the legendary SASHA, alongside tech house gods SWAYZAK. There are few DJs who command the respect and passionate following that Sasha does. Way back in the very early 90’s, at Stoke's legendary Shelley's he would spin for hours, captivate the many clubbers who had travelled the breadth and length of the country to hear him seamlessly mixing Detroit techno, acid tracks and the epic piano breaks of Italian house. Moving on, Mixmag labelled him the first ‘Superstar' DJ, and alongside John Digweed he was responsible for a shift in the dance scene from the grimy warehouses into the shiny superclubs. Renowned for his silky smooth mixing at the height of his mid nineties fame, Sasha has fully embraced all new technology as it’s released, developing his own custom made Maven Controller for Abelton that allows him to remix, re-edit and restructure the music he plays. He's moving forward with the times consistently, pushing back the boundaries on mix compilations, club performances and musical styles, all whilst maintaining his status as one of the world's most creative DJs. Anyone who caught his set last year will agree, he creates a unique vibe, building slowly from simple tech house to big hand raising moments. Bring it on yet gain we say…. Swayzak also joins the party. One of the first artists to be released on Richie Hawtin's Minus label with their Theorem collaborations, and also responsible for the legendary Fabric 11 mix CD, the guys join the dots between minimalism, deep house and electro. Having released and remixed for the likes of K7, Minus, Pokerflat, Playhouse and Simple they know a thing or two about a good groove too. They’re going to rock the spot, time to get involved.
