Ditzy
Hi, I'm trying to come up with a few up beat songs for a competition I'm in, and need a few ideas. Something from a musical will be fine, mezzo soprano range, and for a female. It can be a pop song, but preferably something a bit older (pre-90's), and well known. Thanks

Thanks Leonard Cohen would fit the bill admirably I imagine (anything by him) Failing that ... anything by Mike Batt or even Pink Floyd ... hope this helps

Perhaps I meant to say Leonard Nimoy - he's knocked a couple of upbeat songs out!

Thanks See the people all in line, I'm thinking they look at me, Can't imagine that their minds, Are thinking the same as me, I can hear the grass grow, I can hear the grass grow, I see rainbows in the evening. My head's attracted to, A magnetic wave of sound, With streams of coloured circles, Making their way around Can't seem to cause allow the sign, My senses colour my grown mind, Get a hold of yourself now baby, See I need you to help now baby, Get a hold of yourself now baby. Put your head down to the ground, And listen to your mind, If you can't spell what you found, I know that your not my kind. P.S You may wish to drop some acid in their beverages beforehand. Alcoblog
Here's a nice one: And in the death as the last few corpses lay rotting on the slimy thoroughfare The shutters lifted in inches in temperence building high on Poachers hill And red mutant eyes gazed down on hunger city No more big wheels Fleas the size of rats sucked on rats the size of cats And ten thousand peoploids split into small tribes coveting the highest of the sterile skyscrapers Like packs of dogs assaulting the glass fronts of Love-me-avenue Ripping and re wrapping mink and shiny silver fox, now legwarmers Family badge of sapphire and cracked emerald Any day now! Nice upbeat little ditty eh? ...should go down well
