On Thursday June 24th, WagonWheel Presents... an intimate evening of live acoustic music featuring four fine acts. Joining us will be Richard Masters, Isiah Stubenrauch, Dave Sleney and Carissa Broadwater. Doors open at 8pm and entry will be £3.50.

***RICHARD MASTERS***

Sheffield’s Dark Troubadour, Richard Masters satirical, sardonic and fascinating take on The Human Condition has drawn comparisons with Jacques Brel, Jake Thackeray and Martin Carthy.

Masters is a highly charismatic and hypnotically engaging live performer who has the audience hanging on every word. He is also an adventurous re-interpreter and de-constructor of traditional folk songs.

Also known for his work with Poke and Minnie Moosika, tonight you can expect tales of thieves, blaggers and pantomime cows, ghosts, odd lovers and magical vows.

***ISIAH STUBENRAUCH***

Those of you fortunate enough to have caught Manchester's Lonseome & Penniless Cowboys on their trips across the Pennines will be all too pleased to hear again what will be the familiar voice of Mark Greer aka Isiah Stubenrauch. The Cowboys frontman will tonight be performing a set of his own material influenced by all good things country, swing and rock 'n' roll, particularly the likes of Buddy Holly, Hank Williams and Elvis.

***DAVE SLENEY***

Singer/songwriter Dave Sleney has largely been working on recorded material over the last few months. As well as the country tinged indie pop sounds of his former band, Dave is renowned for heartfelt material in the downbeat singer/songwriter tradition. Also known for not being afraid to chuck in the odd classic cover. The fruits of his recent recording sessions can be heard at:

***CARISSA BROADWATER***

Another reason why York can almost lay claim to being the centre of UK Americana. Originally from Nashville, Carissa Broadwater is a singer/songwriter with Southern Rock influences.
