In my personal experience both alchohol and illegal drugs not only have good and bad points, but they exagerate personailty traits.

If your an aggressive person youre likely to be physically aggressive whilst drunk, if your on coke your likely to be verbally agressive.

If your laid back and fun, youll be laid back and fun whether on coke or E or drunk.

The big eyes and chatting **** used to be amusing when i went to gatecrasher at the republic many moons ago, as was the chatting CRAP, but it bores me now. So the comments made about not seeing these types of symptons are laughable. Its blatantly obvious.

i am pleasantly surprised that there are so many informed and mature reponses in this thread :)

i thought it would just attract a lot of "drugs are teh kewl lolz!!!!!11" replies, which could arguably add fuel to sid's naïve and tenuous argument..

it just goes to show that not all people who take drugs are addicted junkies who are out to destroy society and would walk over their own mother to get the next hit, also that many people can take them recreationally without letting them take over their lives. in much the same way that not everyone who drinks goes on to become an alcoholic.

its just becoming more and more a part of socialising. accept it.

really?? i thought she was just reinforcing the point?

i think it's also commendable that there appears to be a lot of non-drug users here who understand the direction that social drug taking is taking :) like lee pointed out, drugs are enjoyed recreationally by hundreds of thousands (maybe millions) of people nationwide every weekend, without it encroaching on their day to day life.. obviously, there are abusers out there, but only in the same way that some people go on to abuse alcohol as lee pointed out..

it will be interesting to see if this shift in society's perception will have an effect on uk drug laws in the next 10 years or so.. reminds me of ben elton's "high society" :)
