Young shop assistants calling you mate or pal! Gets my back up!

Recommended Posts

But he was.

I, however, Am not his mate or pal. I am sir.

Good morning sir, how may I help you. Perhaps before your time.

You expected him to call you sir? Did you call him sir?

Today's 'mate' is yesteryears 'sir'

I find being called madam more annoying than love/duck/chuck etc etc

I guess no-one can please everyone, at least he was polite, no?

Or are you just wanting a reason to rant?

You've typed "a" instead of "another":hihi:.

I am sir.

Have you been knighted?

when I was a lad back in the early nineties

Perhaps before your time.

The nineties? I think not:hihi:.

Many of us are quite a lot older than you. Never bothered me being called "pal" or "mate".

Do you get as irate when someone says "thank you love/duck/flower...." to you?

Did you used to drive a Capri back in the day that you called your clients Sir?

I doubt it. The OP wasn't even born when they (Ford) stopped manufacturing them:D (you could still by them new, from a dealers years after I left school though:().

No, Not quite sure what you are trying to say!?

That you seem to be living in the past/a timewarp?

Yes we do youngster. :)

Oh what irony from one so young:hihi:

Call me Squire. :)

Squirt is more fitting:D.

Not much gets my back up really luv. :)

Says he on his second rant of the month.

When your working for a large sales company or a bank It's more important to call people sir ect. but when you are selling WD40 I think it's a different matter.

I see the voice of reason has reared it's ugly head:hihih:

unless they are actually a Sir by title.

I still wouldn't then as I don't recognise it as such, as it is throw back to a bygone (rather crap) era.
