Tony
Should street buskers be regulated and have to pass an audition with the council? Would the council know a good performer from a bad one? Or is it better that anyone and everyone can turn up to play and risk adulation and wealth or ridicule and rotten tomatoes?

Ousetunes
Should street buskers be regulated and have to pass an audition with the council? Only if the council has an audition before a bunch of buskers. The latter group probably has more talent and aspiration.
donkey
If the council are going to pay street entertainers, then they can audition them. Otherwise, I can't see how it's any of their business.
thompsonbass
Yeah leave it up to the people. If the buskers are crap they will get told to move along or get the idea soon enough!

Joshua Bell busked for 43 minutes in an Underground station in Washington in January. Hardly anybody paid any attention. He collected $32.17. Nagel
I wouldn't be happy to pay for a council worker to vet buskers. Just let the buskers play and sink or swim depending on the public's approval.
