Jabberwocky
My neighbour has a Cochleal (sp?) implant and in spite of this still has problems with her speech and Ive noticed a lot of people would rather avoid her than talk to her because its too much trouble to try to understand her and they feel embarrassed by asking her to repeat herself. Its worth persevering though because she`s a lovely lady and ...sort of... "Tuning in" (for want of a better phrase) to her speech isnt that difficult and in no time she sounds as clear as a bell. Its sad that people avoid the deaf in situations like this but I see it all the time.
