No white players in the African teams in the world cup!

Recommended Posts

Mathew Booth is a defender and he's white and in the 23 man squad, and married to a former Miss Africa.

Well there you go, that's at least 2 white players in their 23 man squad.

Corresponding pretty well with a 9% population.

This thread is completely pointless.

There are plenty of black players in the European teams but i didn't notice any white players in the South African team for instance, even though whites make up around 9.1% of South Africa's population.

For a little light entertainment you should really watch the film Invictus, which shows Nelson Mandela's support of the Springboks 1995 Rugby WC campaign, much to the consternation of his black countrymen.

The reason? Whites all played rugby, excluding blacks from the sport, so the blacks took up football and made it their own.

Obviously that historical segregation isn't going to be overcome overnight, but it's good to see blacks having followed the likes of Chester Williams in to the Springbok team and whites going the other way and enjoying football.

Ps oh yes, and white folks cant play football :hihi:

In the next world cup game involving an African nation, just look at the distinct lack of non black players.

Are you suggesting there's any racism involved?

Which white players deserve to be in their national teams but have been denied?

If your answers to those two questions are 'no' and 'I don't know' then

what the hell is the point of this thread?
