Who will suffer the most under the present parliament?

Recommended Posts

Sadly we will all suffer during this Parliament thanks to the last Parliament. Those with least will suffer equally but the pain will be felt deeper by them since they have less to give.

It's a mess.

The wealthy don't rely on the services that are taking 80% of the hit.

PollyToynbee was quoting figures the poor will suffer 12 times more than the rich.

The questions people should be asking themselves is....WHY have the present parliament got to make the cuts that will make people suffer? Because of the last administration (Government)!!!!

Their own figures show that there is no need to make the level of cuts they are making. They are undertaking the most ambitious set of cuts in the West. By their own figures the intention is to have half the level of debt of Germany and France by the end of 4 years. And admirable ambition, but not considering the cost they will inflict on the poor and on society. The FT described their budget as kill or cure. There is a real danger that what is planned is simply unachievable not least because burgeoning unemployment and poverty will take us back in to recession, removing the growth we need to clear our debts.

Yet they are still paying more than " the poor" for the services that they don't use.

You're right there. But no one is fooled, (except those that want to justify hitting the poor) that this is necessary. The rich in this country, have more than enough to shoulder the burden. There was a world recession, Tony, that Labour was pretty smart in dealing with, and as they predicted, the economy was showing signs of recovery, better than anticpated, even.

The Uk borrowed / owed £9.5 billion to the US / Canada for WW2 that ended in 1945 & wasn't paid back until 1996.

We currently owe due to Labour's Legacy £914 billion as of this morning.

What decade / millenium do you see us paying that back by with reduced cuts?

I take it you are one of the credit generation?

Oh God, here we go again. Labour have to spend heavily after the Tories because the Tories slash spending on everything, which hurts the masses but does not overly affect the rich and their Eaton fags. The Tories always run the economy into the ground by making people rely on consumerism and the housing market for an income and by reducing public services to such an extant that the economy of the country cannot function.

And for the 'nth time ... This latest recession was brought about by the deregulation of the banking industry and dodgey dealing. The deregulation started in 1980, so guess whose fault that is? And besides, money had to be borrowed because there was no money left in the banks. What would your beloved Tories had done? Let us all starve I presume.

Now run along, stop flaming and stop trying to hide behind the anonymity of the Internet.

What is scrounging about working hard at a low paid job?

The 'piddly nondescript jobs' have to be done by someone and it's hardly their fault if they fail to pay enough to live on.

In answer to the original question the poor and low paid will suffer most. They always do.

There are no "poor" in this country!
