Leah-Lacie
Apparently, my granny told me, theres an old by-law, and if the officer sees you, they are supposed to offer you their hat to pee in....

Incorrect! Your thinking of pregnant ladies, not the general population. EDIT - beaten to it.
Godluvsu
i think you get fined for it... depends on the city you live - you get charged abt £80 - £120 i think. If the officer was kind enough, he may let you go with a warning..
Alien
Isn't there a law allowing you to relieve yourself against the rear nearside wheel of your car? Has to be stationary though.

EmilyM
One of my friends was actually told by a police officer to have a pee in a car park. Her OH had been taken into the police station, they left her sat in his van outside the police station for 4 hours and the doors to the building were locked. She saw some officers sat in a riot van and asked them what she should do because she was desperate for a pee. He told her to go in the car park. Someone else I know got an £80 fine for peeing in public, his charge sheet said "urinating in public, causing distress".
