Ludicrous laws for the chop.

Recommended Posts

being retired I am not upto date but do we not currently have a right to strike?

No there is no right to strike.

The ability to conduct a trade dispute comes through limited statutory provisions that grant immunity from tortious and criminal prosecutions. This is a limitation on an employer's right to dictate what they will on their workforce with impunity. Not a positive right to strike.

Arguably European Law provides workers with a right to strike, but until European law is properly implemented in the Uk, claiming we have a right to strike is not much more than a slogan.

Nick Clegg in the Sun paper today launches the Your Freedom initiative to liberate the nation from Labour's legacy of legal red tape. He invites readers to decide which bits of the barmy bureaucracy should be given the boot. What crazy laws would you get rid of?

In other words, the ConDems have absolutely no idea how to run the country and are fishing around for ideas. What do they think they are supposed to do when they are in charge? The state pays them to make decision and policies.

BTW, did you know that the most effective way of getting people to accept change is to involve them in the development process? Who is going to take the blame when it all goes wrong? Surely not the politicians, since they didn't make the decisions. And to think that people actually voted for these clowns ...

I dont know why people are getting annoyed. The politicians have always attempted to listen to the population, the only way they get to stay in power is by being the most popular kids in the playground. All the coalition have done is provide a website as a forum to see what everyones views are. This is either a good or irrelevant thing for democracy. It is not laziness!:loopy:

Maybe its bitterness because labour didn't give a flying fig what the insignificant people thought!

The equal pay act could be strengthened to include agency workers doing the same jobs as permanent staff.

Laws protecting workers from harassment could be strengthened.

We should introduce the possibility of imprisonment for negligence leading to corporate manslaughter, something that would help workers and reduce costs on the state from dealing with the long term consequences of accidents at work.

Whistleblowing legislation needs strengthening, as do the rules on flexible working.

They should ban zero hour contracts.

For the first time in 13 years the government (who works for us btw) are daring to ask OUR opinion!! shock horror, we are being invited to be involved in deciding what laws that Labour brought in with no respect to us, and all people can do is slate them :loopy:

Its a good thing for once, get off your socialist soap box's and start to see it for what it is, and have a voice instead of moaning and then once laws are repealed you cannot moan that its not what you wanted

When I vote for someone, and they get elected, I do not want to have follow them around, telling them what to do.

Their terms of reference are laid out pre election, that is what we vote for.

You do not vote for someone, to have them turn around and say 'right I am in charge, what do I do?'

It is an absolute disaster of a way to run anything, never mind one of the worlds leading economies.

Can you imagine if senior management at work were continually asking how they should do their job, as they didnt know how?

They would be a laughing stock, and thrown out within a week.

Yet you approve of having a government like that.

God Help Us All.

Because this lot and their supporters cant.

RIPA - Regultion of Investigatory Powers Act. Meant to be a tool for fighting terrorism and serious organised crime, instead used to instigate MI5 style surveillance on everyday people for the most minor offences (alleged offences).

This document makes very interesting reading and shows the extent to which councils have been abusing their powers:

I think it's more likely a Sun initiative that Nick Clegg has lent his name to. If it was a government initiative why would it be limited to Sun readers. Doesn't anyone else have a right to a say?
