Recommended Posts

Im loving it, its like being in a democracy or something:clap:

we are their employers, I know its an alien concept but they should listen to us!

Naivety writ large.

In your far away life you are reminiscent of The Eloi.

I don't know what the website is but its not only open to sun readers.

It's on the Sun website - not a place a majority of the population are ever going to visit.

And under Labour (and probably still) you could petition 10 Downing Street directly - been loads of threads on here "sign the petition".

Don't be surprised if they don't.

Its just a gimmick to try cover the fact that the ConDoms are not a real government.

1980 Employment Act

1982 Employment Act

Trade Union Act 1984

Employment Act 1988

Alternatively rather than repeal a Trade Union Freedom Bill, would simplify balloting procedures, reintroduce a right to strike and bring our laws in line with those internationally that are relied upon by trade unionists across the world to defend workers against the brutality of the corporate requirement to maximise profit at any cost.

I think we need these laws more than ever now to prevent the militant public service unions scuppering the public spending cuts that we need to save the nation from another recession.

Why would you want to repeal an act that gave union members the right to a secret ballot, unless you'd want to go back to the bad old days when militant members could intimidate and nobble other members to swing the vote?

I dont know why people are getting annoyed. The politicians have always attempted to listen to the population, the only way they get to stay in power is by being the most popular kids in the playground. All the coalition have done is provide a website as a forum to see what everyones views are. This is either a good or irrelevant thing for democracy. It is not laziness!:loopy:

Maybe its bitterness because labour didn't give a flying fig what the insignificant people thought!

At the risk of sounding quite abrupt, you are totally wrong. Politicians have not always listened to people - they just like to give that impression they do because people get the feeling that they are involved and have the power to change things that might benefit them directly.

I am not bitter; I am slighly annoyed because we have an unelected PM who got in through the back door by promising a little power to a man (puppet) who has rejected his party principles and the views of his party's supporters.
