UNOITALIANO
Me, my husband and 2yr old son, would like up to 5nights away in a caravan at the end of July. Don't want to travel more than 3hrs from Sheffield. Any ideas on where we could go, what it costs to stay in a caravan per night...etc Good park and local facilities for little one preferable....Please help (would prob travel further if it was worth it) Many Thanks
GrannyGranny
East coast would be the best bet. You can get to Scarborough in under 3hrs so anywhere from there south to Skeggy. There are loads of sites so prices are pretty reasonable because of the choice. You are hitting the start of the summer holidays so it is high season. I've done a weekend here http://www.haven.com/parks/yorkshire_lincolnshire/reighton_sands/index.aspx using the Sun vouchers. I went with my wife and 3 kids aged 10, 7 & 3 and they had a great time. Loads of things to do and the beach is very good. Pool is a bit basic but your 2 years old won't mind and there's entertainment every night. I think you can do 4 or 7 nights but not 5. 4 nights is about £350, 7 £500. Sites with less facilities will be cheaper than this and probably more flexible. Try this site http://www.directholidayhomes.co.uk/uklets.html My favourite part of that coast is Sandilands which is just south of Sutton on Sea. Its a bit less commercialised than other sections and the beach is fantastic.
