Cyclone
Allows light into a room whilst obscuring the view into it from the street. AKA privacy.

danniuk2000
I have them because people stare into my house as they are walking passed. They don't even try to hide the fact that they're looking in. We even went through a stage of waving at people but got fed up pretty and put the nets back up. I know they look naff but what's the alternative other than having the curtains closed? Treatment
I have them, what is the alternative, Austrian blinds ?
Joanl
I have them because I don't like blinds....makes it look too "officey". Our windows are very big and we are directly opposite another block of flats. It is a busy road with a lot of traffic that includes buses and I won't even put the lights on until the curtains are closed.
Guest
For privacy - Because some people are surprisingly nosy and even wonder why other people have net curtains. It's getting really hard to do as you please these days without someone having a go.
PaymePal
If you stand back about four foot and squint a bit you can have a good old nosy without anyone outside seeing you...
