scottsmith
Not sure how they are relevant stats - mobile usage in the USA back then was tiny, even compared to the UK. Feel free to find up to date stats.
jongo
Illegal to use your phone while sat in the drivers seat with the engine running. Irrelevant if you are moving. Can you provide a link to this statement? There are exceptions also that state that you are allowed to use your mobile phone whilst driving. How does anyone know that this wasnt the case? mj.scuba
After watching the video I can't see why the cyclist had to bother telling the driver off. Regardless of him breaking the law, is it this guys job to go around chastising people for minor infringements of the law? Obviously just an idiot cycle warrior. The chap could have told him where to shove it without spitting though.
spindrift
Similar "minor infringements of the law" resulted in twenty coffins last year. If you think it's a minor inconvenience to cycle on the roads near drivers chatting away on mobiles, distracted and dangerous, then you clearly never cycle. jongo
Looking at his other video's he seems to be on some sort of crusade, even cycling backwards up a main road to have a go at another driver.
spindrift
Good luck to him, we need more people who don't ignore anti-social, illegal behaviour. Bullies and criminals get away with so much because few people dare challenge them.

spindrift
Wow, had did they manage to kill anybody whilst stationary? They weren't stationary and neither was the disgusting spitting van driver. You asked for links that show that driving on a mobile is as dangerous as drink driving. I provided them. Now you claim it's legal, or safe, to use a mobile phone whilst driving. Why are you so desperate to defend criminal thugs?
