Blackbeard
The currency of Sweden is not the Euro but the Kronor, not sure how a Euro card would help. But I think this would have been better in General rather than Sheffield
aswind
Indeed, that's why I tittled the thread as "global/euro" since I just want to have some review from people have used any of these forms of prepaid cards. Thanks

DT Ralge
I used a "cash passport" in the States last year and it worked really well. It was loaded with dollars before I went so I was tied into the exchange rate at the point I bought the dollars. Keeping abreast of how much money was left on the card was a bit of a chore but there was always a local automated response number to ring as a crosscheck. The most disconcerting thing about using it (or any other card for that matter) was that it was always taken away in restaurants (like used to happen here prior to skimming etc) and nobody but nobody checked a signature against what was on the back of the card. Anyway, the cash passport is the way to go for me.

MonkeyLover
the "cash passports" are a brilliant idea. You can have them loaded with the currency of the country you are going to, or you can have them loaded with sterling. So much easier than carrying loads of cash around, and a lot safer.
