vwkittie
If I was checking in luggage I'd allow at the very least two hours, probably more like three so by the time I've run late and the traffic has been awful I actually get there two hours before

Twiglet
London City Airport for domestic flights = 45 mins max No long security queues, and most importantly NOTHING to do when you get to the other side except drink a lot of coffee which really isn't a good idea just before boarding a plane At least an hour for check in, 20 mins to repack your bag when they say it's too big to fit in their 'hand luggage size check frame' (despite it being so small it was advertised as fitting within all airline's hand luggage size allowance!), 1 minute to grin triumphantly at the grumpy check in person when you manage it and then a 2 hour queue for security. I will never fly from there again.
Panthera
we allways stay in a travel lodge the night before usually get one of those £9 offer rooms. then we get to the airport at least 4 hours before, gives us time to check in have some food and calmly make our way to the departure lounge where we find some decent seats ready for boarding...i dont get all these people who blame traffic or accidents or other things for them being late for check in, at the end of the day id rather be sat twiddling my thumbs for an hour or so than crapping myself stuck in a traffic jam two hours away from the airport.
