What animal was this ?

Recommended Posts

Driving along near Chatsworth at dusk tonight and a smallish animal crossed the road in front of me and I didn't know what it was. It looked like a badger but was smaller and not black and white, looked all brown from what I could see. Any idea what it might have been ?

Stoat, weasel, wallaby?

(Don't laugh, there used to be a population of Wallabies in the Peak District)

There is a population of Wallabies around Whipsnade wild animal park as they all escaped years ago. Actually there is a large number of wild meerkats too, but I doubt the OP was down in deepest darkest Bedfordshire :)

Was it Ngomo the African midget groundkeeper crawling back from the Devonshire Arms? :hihi:

It could still be a badger as they are sort of brown before they are adult.
