Really? The hundreds of bodybags being returned to the UK makes me think otherwise. Still, it could be worse. Imagine if you invaded a country that had a proper army :o

hahaha, like op granby? haha, and the much vaunted republican gaurd? they could not surrender fast enough. in fact the only thing they could do faster was rape kuwaitis.

Yeah, then Al Qaeda joined in the fun. And things have been going downhill from there.

And throw Kuwaiti babies out of incubators. And develop and stockpile WMD. And plan 9/11.

"The firing by soldiers of 1 PARA on Bloody Sunday caused the deaths of 13 people and injury to a similar number, none of whom was posing a threat of causing death or serious injury,"

which makes your claim that "our army only kills in defense", a bit silly, regardless of your very biased personal opinion.

A young man I know wanted to join the army from being a little boy. He joined up and did a stint in Afghanistan, but has now put in his 'notice' (he had signed up for four years and has done two) He has become very disallusioned with the whole thing.

The reality of soldiering isn't always the same as the perceptions of the life.

There is the possibility of transferring to a different type of unit and being employed in a different role.

Yes, and we're not bringing our troops home in bodybags anymore.

Just as well, because I'm tired of Sheffield city centre being blocked off because some selfish soldier got shot and wants his funeral to be at Sheffield Cathedral.
