Off to rome in september any tips taxis hotels ect?

Taxis are expensive. I'd recommend staying in the Colosseo area then you won't need much in the way of transport, all the interesting stuff is walkable apart from the Vatican which can be easily reached by Metro. We didn't try using the buses because we'd been warned against, they're awash with pickpockets apparently.

Went a couple of years ago with a group of friends. We travelled on the trains to the Vatican without any problems at all.

However would suggest that you do buy a day ticket for the open top buses that do the rounds. Great value and you are able to get on and off where you fancy and see all the attractions at your pace without any hassle or just simply ride around the city if tired.

Also if you go to the colloseum there are always English students who are willing to take you round the place and give you a tour of the surrounding area for a few Euros.

Keep Smiling and enjoy. Its hectic but fab !!:thumbsup:

I also definitely recommend this as getting around all of Romes attractions with a very young child can be exhausting. We didn't do this but regretted not doing.
