Whippoorwill
Whippoorwill presents WATER TOWER BUCKET BOYS + PANCHO BALLARD AND THE BANDITOS SHEFFIELD: The Green Room TUE 17TH AUG, 2010 7:30 PM Advance Tickets £4 from http://www.wegottickets.com/event/87597 £5 on door http://www.myspace.com/whippoorwillsheffield This August we will be welcoming Old-Time Bluegrass sensations The Water Tower Bucket Boys . Hailing from Portland, Oregon, the Bucket Boys play raw, hard-driving music with tight harmonies and virtuosic instrumental work. They had a hugely successful tour over here last year and are back for more and we are delighted to have them. Their last album Catfish on the Line features the band's first recorded original material, and is praised by fiddlefreak.com as "a rambunctious ramble through classic bluegrass, old-time country, and ornery originals. Championed by Mark Lamarr on his BBC Radio 2 God's Jukebox show the guys will be playing a session for Mark early August and is not to be missed. In support we have the Northwest's only Mariachi/Mexican Hat band, Pancho Ballard and The Banditos. They play a sort of Mexican Scar from Bolton with a BIG BIG SOUND. Fun songs, Mex-Bolton Perkins soup Song with funky rhythms, story telling donkeys, cut throats and war, haircuts and hats. They have a fun boozed harmonic appeal cut from superb tight musicianship.
