Speed Cameras To Be Switched Off Due To Spending Cuts.

Recommended Posts

Speeding is never a victimless crime, it scares and bullies vulnerable road users.

Speeding is also a criminal act.

Surely you knew this?

One that serious.... that you don't have to face a judge or court in most instances, don't get a criminal record & a few quid to HM Government PLC & everything goes away.

Criminal.....not quite.

Wrong:

It is a criminal conviction, after all you have broken the law.

All motoring offences (except parking violations in areas where enforcement has been handed over to local councils, rather than traffic wardens) come under criminal law. So there can be no doubt that speeding is a criminal offence.

Thus the criminal offence of speeding has many possible consequences including:

Acquittal in Court

Conviction in Court (appearance) - fine, points and record

Conviction in Court (in absence) - fine, points and record

Discretionary Police Caution - record

Discretionary FPN - fine, points, no record

Warning

No Action Taken

Should be criminal for people like you to spout rubbish!

Most end in no record so no criminality involved!

You think a criminal act is not a criminal act if it's not detected?

It's astonishing how many people are ignorant about the criminal offence of speeding...

Reading some of his previous posts it's striking how draconian Dogs of War is when it comes to people breaking the law, he turns into a liberal however when the law applies to himself.

Typical Tory hypocrisy:thumbsup:.

Whilst your trying to be clever, what's the speed limit on private land

There is no limit on private land if you have the land owners permission (track days etc.).

Meanwhile back in the real world

Though the point is (manifestly) correct.

Have you ever driven over the speed limit?

You're still omitting the "and complained abouth the fine afterwards", at least compare like for like.:loopy:.

I'll wave next time I drive past you then.

All you're doing, is proving that these cameras are necessary to stamp out driving over the limit.

So how is Criminal Law being broken?

By travelling above the posted limit, you are comitting a criminal offence. Therefore, criminal law has been broken.

Quite simple, really.

Its also astonishing how some try to make out that speeding is something its not!

It is NOT dangerous driving, nor is it even driving without due care, thats left to the incompetent drivers with very bad attitude like you undoubtably are.

Speeding is merely going beyond the posted limit and you know as well as i do 1,000's of them were reduced by the Labour party rable to rediculously low speeds mainly to entrap drivers within many carefully located speed camera sites that have no bearing on safety just revenue collection.

Good riddance to them and hopefully we will all now be safe when drivers arnt bunched up looking like their on tow just because of cameras.

Cameras have caused many accidents, probably more than they have detered!
