Speed Cameras To Be Switched Off Due To Spending Cuts.

Recommended Posts

You said the footage was "lost".

It isn't lost at all, the link's above your post.

You claimed the footage showed a camera causing crashes.

It doesn't, it shows the kind of numpty drivers who are unable to control their vehicle that you defend.

Do you seriously think you could crash your car on your driving test and blame a speed camera? :loopy::loopy::loopy:

No! I didnt say the footage was lost...

It's not lost if it's on You Tube.

So, if you crashed on your driving test and blamed a speed camera you reckon you'd get away with it?

Not the best source, since their "lost footage" claim turned out to be a load of old trousers.

And here's the cource for the 100 lives saved, Dr Linda Mountain, as you know, you've read the link before which makes your post doubly dishonest:

A joint statement from groups including the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, the AA and national cycling body CTC said: ‘Speed cameras help to save lives - an estimated 100 lives a year in the UK.’

But the study cited as the source does not contain the claim.

The DfT’s National Safety Camera Programme Four-Year Evaluation Report said deaths had fallen by 100 at camera sites but did not conclude cameras had caused the reduction.

Well that's from the DfT. Obviously safety groups just putting their own spin on things.

"Now a scientist has joined the debate by suggesting government figures on how many lives are saved by speed cameras are exaggerated."

Was thinking though? Switch camera's off to save costs? Cut down emergency services staffing? Cut back on council staffing to save costs? More accidents? Reciepe for chaos? Surely? Child knocked over and killed due to someone doing 35 instead of 30? Could be left hours before any emergency service arrives?
