crookes
It used to be on this low wall beside the bloke on the left, in the distance. Ruler Opposite was Hobbies, a fantastic shop that sold model kits for boats and 'planes.

Ruler Opposite was Hobbies, a fantastic shop that sold model kits for boats and 'planes. There used to be a dancing school there also, Upstairs if I remember. I used to meet the girlfriend coming out of there. Never dared to go in :-)
Jessity
St Paul's Parade, yes of course - I'd remembered it as East Parade which is the one by the Cathedral. Wonderful photos and links, thank you to everyone. Hello John.
david weston
Anyone remember the wool shop at the Pinstone St. end ? I knew a girl who worked there in the 50's called Lois. 'Hobbies' was a great place, plastic kits, gypsy caravan kits,Jetex motors, balsa-wood model plane kits (Keik-Kraft etc), I can still smell the dope now !
