Darth Vader
I really don't think so, and this latest news makes me even more against the idea. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-10887125
epiphany
They should, but instead of firing electrically charged darts the guns should pop out a flag that reads Dzzzz.
Vague_Boy
Give 'em tasers and they'll be tasering pensioners within a week. Video: police officers filmed smashing up pensioner's car Two police officers have been suspended after they were filmed smashing up a disabled man’s car while the terrified pensioner sat in the driver’s seat. Footage captured on a police dashboard camera shows one officer striking the driver’s seat window with a baton up to 15 times and another officer jumping on the bonnet of the car and kicking the windscreen in an apparent attempt to crack it. Police pulled over Robert Whatley, 70, for not wearing a seat belt as he drove through country lanes in South Wales. The 8-mile chase started after officers tried to give Mr Whatley a fixed penalty notice but he drove off. LINK Now you could argue that the guy shouldn't have driven off and I'd agree. But watch the video and see if the words "measured response" in any way applies to the conduct of the officers involved.
decoy
No. It won't be long before someone is killed with one of these, i.e. someone who is disabled, then the police would get away with it, it would be the victim's fault of course.

Good lord, what have we come to, its o.k. to batter children and get away with it, but if you don't wear a seat belt, nuff said.

jongo
Like the teenager who was just accidentally shot with one? Pre-emptive strike to make sure she doesn't stray later on? Thats right, it was an accident. Sadly these things happen, there has been plenty of accidents involving police cars, so, do we take the cars off them also ?
