HeadingNorth
If you truly believe the above to be true HN.. why are you also claiming "space being contained"? leads to a contradiction in human logic, which proves it false? I believe it was Obelix who posted the analogous argument, way back in this thread. Certainly it is Obelix who has repeated it time after time, in the vain hope that you might actually learn to grasp the idea of logical deduction. You have failed to do so. danot
It's not a fallacy because you cannot understand it. If you want to show it as a fallacy point out where the logical error in the reasoning is - it's the only way you can do so. danot
Sigh. Scientists and lay people use the word "theory" differently. When scientists call something a "theory" this is what they mean: b. A system of ideas or statements explaining something, esp. one based on general principles independent of the things to be explained; a hypothesis that has been confirmed or established by observation or experiment and is accepted as accounting for known facts. M17. atomic theory, gauge theory, theory of evolution, theory of numbers, theory of relativity, etc. whereas anti-scientific buffoons like you think they mean theory in the most pejorative lay meaning: 5. loosely. An unsubstantiated hypothesis; a speculative (esp. fanciful) view. L18. The big bang Theory has never been observed or experimented on, so does it qualify as a theory? esme
((((Nothing cannot create something)))) as I stated before nothing is not "nothing", empty space has energy, this energy can create a universe whether it did or not is a different question
plekhanov
Have you ever wondered where navel fluff comes from? It comes from our clothes and collects there because because hairs on our stomach point towards the belly button. Consequently the natural movement of your clothes against your stomach causes stray fragments of fabric fibre to collect in your belly button. HeadingNorth
((((Nothing cannot create something)))) Once again. This assumption has been shown to lead to a contradiction, and it is therefore false.

Clothing fibers will cling to our body and will flow down your body along with our sweat when things get really sticky.
HeadingNorth
The big bang Theory has never been observed or experimented on In fact is has. Calculations based upon the Big Bang hypothesis (before it reached the status of Theory!) showed that, if it had happened, it would have left a background radiation, detectable now in the microwave region at a very specific wavelength. Radiation at exactly that wavelength was, at the very time the calculations were done, being detected by a group of people looking for something else entirely and wondering what the blazes was causing all the background noise. [Matt]
I've not been reading this thread but can anyone tell me if this has been covered? http://www.tgdaily.com/space-features/49265-our-universe-may-be-inside-a-black-hole-says-physicist http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2010/04/100409-black-holes-alternate-universe-multiverse-einstein-wormholes/
