I think I have more of an input on this and believe me no one in their right mind would fast if they were pregnant.

 

Yes. If you see a woman eating during ramadan, she will either be pregnant or on her period; you are not allowed to fast during your period, so women get a week off in ramadan. ;)

It would have been so much easier when Islam was confined to Equatorial countries, though of course harder in Winter!

 

there's only two Muslim majority countries through which the equator passes out of the 14 in total, Somalia and Indonesia. None of the Middle Eastern countries, where Islam first developed and initially spread, are equatorial. There's a difference between 'equatorial' and 'tropical'.
