zebrafish
I just got aware of fish pedicure today and found out there is one salon in Sheffield. So I really wanna have a go, cos I have eczema. But I read some articles about their health threats to customers and subsequent banning in several US states. Please see the following two links: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/ireland/article7086874.ece http://www.beauty-and-the-bath.com/fish-pedicure-warning.html So I am now not sure if it is worthy to have a go. Any suggestions from skin experts or fish pedicure goers?

Saffy
This thread is going to be moved I know .. but wanted to reply to you re. the health thing .. Is it hygienic? *** The Garra Rufa fish can't transfer diseases to humans. Your feet will be pre-rinsed and each person is given their own fish pod. Sterilized water constantly flows through each pod to ensure that the process is as hygienic as possible.

Please don't get this wrong. I just want to weigh pros and cons before I try it.

purdyamos
What's wrong with the traditional method of rubbing a tin of mackerel all over your feet and getting a cat to rasp it all off with its tongue? That's why I have two mogs, one for each foot. Sometimes the old ways are the best.
poppins
I wonder how much poo the fish do in the water when they've had a good nibble ?

Maybe you haven't read those two articles about the health threat. The con is not just money, but maybe our health. I'd better turn to a dermatologist.
