Wildcat
I am sure there are people who will see it that way? Only you I think.
Grahame
Why the hell one anyone build a monument to him? You're not comparing like with like at all - this is not a monument, it is a rebuild in Lower Manhattan and not on the WTC site itself. These analogies of yours are beyond ludicrous. Read what I said If someone built a monument to the victims of Peter Sutcliffe, people would be reminded of a serial killer.
Wildcat
Read what I said Yes. And who is building a monument to Peter Sutcliffe? or to Osama Bin Laden?

Suffragette1
Good question, and one that no one has answered apart from those that think renovating the mosque is some sort of victory for Al Qaeda. Edit: and as Suffie reminds me an indication Obama is a secret muslim, who has just been pretending to be a Christian by regular attendance at church and doing everything you would expect of a Christian, even going so far as to controversially increase the numbers of troops in Afghanistan to fight the Taliban and Al Qaeda all as a cunning ruse to allow him to support the renovation of this mosque.... I bet Bin Laden is celebrating in his cave right now at the success of such an ingenious plan. If it weren't for that pesky Grahame and those Hawaiians and his plan would have been safe. Obama has been waiting in the wings all this time as president presumptive, he is Bin Laden's right hand man.
Lotusflower
If someone built a monument to the victims of Peter Sutcliffe, people would be reminded of a serial killer. You really are cluthching at straws here Grahame. From your input on this thread it is obvious to me that you find it somewhat difficult to see the difference between the 9/11 perpetrators and Muslims in general. If I've got you wrong I apologise. Suffragette1
Read what I said Did you edit that post? Everyone in NYC, its environs and beyond is a victim of 9/11, so by your argument, there should be no memorial to the victims at all, on the site itself. Wildcat
I said building a monument to the VICTIMS. So you are opposed to a monument being built on the site of the Twin Towers.... I suppose that is a reference to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_September_11_Memorial_%26_Museum what has this to do with renovating a mosque nearby? Footballers, athletes and people in the media do represent their country, whether we like it or not. People do associate Winston Churchill with England and Hitler with Germany, it is a fact of life.
