Home streaks!! Help!

Recommended Posts

Why don't you tell your daughter to wait till your hairdresser can fit you in, it could avert a hair disaster as the posters above have mentioned and that way she learns the value of patience at the same time instead of getting what she wants immediately like most kids get today :D

Totally agree.

If you're even contemplating doing it yourself, is it worth waiting for your usual stylist? Why not just go to a decent salon and let their colourist do it? Even an apprentice could put a couple of streaks in.

Better than risking a disaster trying to do it yourself. She won't want to be wearing a hat for the rest of the summer :D

What you need to do is a strand test first, cut a bit of hair off where it will not show, and use some of the colour to put the hair in, following the instructions. If the colour is ok and the hair still in good condition then its ok to go ahead.

Sorry I know this is not what you want to hear, but don't do it! I am a stylist & find anyone that has attempted to hilite their own hair it ends up orange or leaving polka dots at the scalp area from the product being applied to heavy! Go to a salon you trust & get a consultation. Tell them what you are looking for, there are many different ways of hiliting/streaking so you don't have to pay a fortune! You can always get a partial(just hitliting crown area & not underneath) or you can just get a few where you want them & that should cost even less! Find out ahead of time how much it is &save for it, its worth it & you will spend alot less than having to get a color correction done!
