normanmarina Posted August 17, 2010 Share Posted August 17, 2010 Somewhere in my distant memory,I recall seeing a soft top car driving up redmires road through lodge moor towards wyming brook.(about 1971)The occupants were, I believe, a couple in their 50s and their two grandchildren in the back(pre compulsary belt days) They went past me and my mum as we were standing at the front of lodge moor cafe,we had recently bought the cafe.I do recall both children waving furiously from the back seat at any people they saw.We heard later that further up redmires road the car was involved in an accident,resulting in all being killed!!!Anyone else recall this tragedy or is my memory playing tricks? Not saying I want to remember it,just that it was there in my distant memory,wondered if I had recalled the facts correctly,tragic as they may be.
