I have an '04 Avensis 4X4 T3 diesel Tourer and have been having major problems starting but only when warm. I have found similar owner experiences on the net and the commonest suggested cause is the Coolant sensor failure which seems pretty logical but more commonly the starter motor is stated as the cause. According to blogs starter motor replacement was recommended by a number of dealerships as the solution? Can anyone suggest the link as my engine cranks over as normal but doesn't fire. steveh Posted August 17, 2010 Share Posted August 17, 2010 If the starter motor is turning and sounds normal it seems unlikely to be that causing the problem.
