Cozmo
I like an old school type boozer, pool table, dukebox, decent ales and the odd chance of some OT now and again I used to really like the Frog n Parrot in town but sinces its refurb its not as good as it was. Washington is a cool pub though.
Harleyman
No TV. A rustic atmosphere with lots of old prints on the walls and oak beamed ceilings. Big stone fireplace for winter days and a nice area outdoors for the summer days. Friendly staff, great grub and decent service

Mister M
Good beer, pleasant atmosphere, no music, bandits or deafening TV, and no chav parents with screaming kids. Not Dempseys at the bottom of the Moor then?
esme
I totally agree but would go further. My favourite local pub is the Coach & Horses at Dronfield. The pub was until a few years ago a complete shed and in the process of being closed down. It is now in the hands of Sheffield Football Club and has been tastefully decorated without resorting to the standard pub kit and cheap fittings. It also has half a dozen Thornbridge beers, "proper" cider, and imported beers (not filth brewed here under licence). Food is excellent and freshly produced. Staff are excellent and friendly. No TV. No Juke box. No chavs. No quizzes. Near perfect It is a shining example for anyone looking to turn around a failing pub. Nearly forgot. They sell Yorkshire crisps if I'm ever out that way I know where to go, ta
MonkeyLover
No TV. A rustic atmosphere with lots of old prints on the walls and oak beamed ceilings. Big stone fireplace for winter days and a nice area outdoors for the summer days. Friendly staff, great grub and decent service that sounds just about right to me! - just add a few friendly (but not TOO friendly) customers, and the sound of happy chattering people! MonkeyLover
Seabrook crisps, real ale, comfy seats, no music, busty leggy barmaid. That does it for me, except for the busty leggy barmaid (swap her with a nice hunky bloke and I'm all for it) Don't forget also, some lovely grub..............
