r.gaunt
Hello guys im just after some needed advice about shin splints, i have done loads to try an get rid of my shin splints but nothing seems to do the trick ive tried top of the range running shoes, stretching for 5-10 mins before trying to run, a slow and fast paced warm up walk before i run, ive even had some special insoles made that was 70quid!! and i have been using these for a few month and there not working either. Has anyone had this problem and got rid?? as soon as my pace turns from a fast walk to a jog within a few steps my shins are in agony.
hotrock
Whilst i was in the forces i suffered quite badly with shin splints and to my knowledge the only cure is plenty of rest, it may be worth visiting your GP to ensure that there is no underlying skeletal problems. mogwai84
As a warm up try running backwards for a few mins, i'll help stretch your legs out.
Propertydev
I used to get them through too much road running. Go cross-country and use plenty of deep heat.
