HeadingNorth
Discounting amazingly bad mistakes: Sheffield - Gainsborough: 28.403/34.562. Also 85% by rounding off, but fractionally better than London. If you don't round things off, London is still better.
callippo
Stoke Staffs crow flies 37.997 (38) Stoke Staffs surface 70.67 (71) = 53.5 54% that's what the site says. now that ties in with my own experience. I don't know Stoke, but I did pass through there once on a drive to visit one of my now-deceased relatives in Ceredigion - it kind of looked the quickest way on the map. Big mistake. It took ages. btw, Ceredigion is 80%.

That is, indeed, what the site says; but look at the map, and where it's worked out the drive to. That point is nowhere near Stoke, Staffs! If you enter "Longton, Stoke-on-Trent" you get a more realistic drive, and a figure of 78%. The reason Stoke takes such an annoyingly long time to drive is not so much because you go a long way round, but because the roads are bad. callippo
so Uttoxeter is the lowest then, at 56 so far. That indisputably is Uttoxeter, not Toxteth or something. I can't get a reading for Campbelltown.
