Rent - a - Friend in the UK

Recommended Posts

No, I think its a bit crazy.

Why not go outside, turn either left or right and knock upon the first door you come across and say 'ey up, how thee keeping ****'.

Or as we do in Yorkshire, walk in and tell them to put the kettle on, before they nominate you for mashing the brew.

Anyone one rich, lonely and wanting to meet people or poor and wanting to be paid to meet strangers.

If so then look no further....

Anyone else think this is a good idea?

No, I think it's kinda depressing that someone has found yet another way to exploit lonely people for cash. There are countless ways to meet new people without having to reach into your wallet!

Christ, what people will do to earn a quick buck!

I suppose if you are single, and all your friends are coupled up, it might be difficult to get out and about as much as you'd like... It is difficult to meet new people deliberately, all my friends I have met through circumstances, other people, work, uni et etc. I bet it is hard to just go out and meet people (without them thinking you're a weirdo with no friends)

There are several groups on this forum alone who meet regularly to socialise: there's walking group, a foodie group who meet up and try out new restaurants... there are tons of ways to meet people without having to pay someone to be your friend. I'm amazed you're pandering to the idea. Join a club, a gym, an art class, start a sport, anything! Just don't line the pockets of these cynical, capitalising money-grabbers.
