What did you want to be?

I am shortly to retire and although I like the job I do I have begun thinking back as to all the careers I wanted to have

I wanted to be an air stewardess after reading girl's books about it

wanted to be a hairdresser because my friends did

wanted to be a nurse because I liked the uniform

wanted to be a singer in a girls band but never had the voice for it.

anyone else had unfulfilled career dreams?

As a child I wanted to be a playboy adventurer or a mad scientist,

later I wanted to be a chef in the Royal Navy,

about the age 14 I decided I'd like to be joiner,

and from about the age of 16 I wanted to be a Rock'n'Roll Superstar.

I was actually a labourer, a shop assistant, a baker, a plaster technician, a dental technician and a self employed shop owner.

I'm still striving to become a Rock'n'Roll Superstar, though I'd love to be a playboy adventurer too.
