Surely an oath of "allegiance" that is imposed by coercion has no validity? Doesn't sound very democratic either. How would you feel if you were forced to swear allegiance to "call me Dave" and Nick? As a republican, I'm not sure I like the idea of being forced to swear allegiance to the old Benefits Scrounger and the in-bred idiots that comprise her family.
