SHsheff
Inspired by a current thread, I thought I'd start this one. So....I'm not (uninsured, that is). I pay many hundreds of pounds for mine, even though I have years of no claims bonus and I'm a mature (ahem) driver with many years' experience and haven't had an accident since I was 21 (the other driver stopped part way across a roundabout, seeing as you asked). Are you? How do you get away with it? Doesn't your conscience bother you? Why isn't the Law hammering on your door? Why are the rest of us subsidising you? And, do you pay road tax? Do you have MOT? How do you manage not to, if not?
Mr Bloke
No! I don't! No! They don't know where I live! You're not! Yes! Yes! Not applicable!
purdyamos
Just had Cops, Cars and Crims (I think that was the title) on in the background. They stopped a young woman who worked as a beautician, because she was using her mobile while driving. It turned out she had no insurance so they took her car away there and then. She was snivelling. I suppose she needed to save the money on insurance to pay for her mobile phone bill. Pity she didn't do it the other way round. A nation cheers. I must admit I'm uninsured. But that's because I can't drive. Hi SHsheff by the way! Long time no see!
Swan_Vesta
I must admit that I inwardly chuckle whenever I see one of the many crime porn channels showing some brain dead scratter faced with their car getting crushed for driving with no insurance. "Ah need t' car for tecking babbies t' Mcdonald's" they shriek through snot and tears as the voiceover states what procedure the police are following. Screw them says I. I pay for my motoring because I need it to commute for my job and because I couldn't possibly bring myself to share any common ground with people who eat microchips and call their first born Scratchcard. Dogs Of War
I couldn't possibly bring myself to share any common ground with people who eat microchips and call their first born Scratchcard. Too true . I could never lower myself to slumming it with the Jeremy Kyle show masses on public transport. The thought repulses me , so i will continue to pay my dues to drive . chem1st
I don't have any, but I don't drive. I can, but I don't. £2500 for insurance is a joke. Especially when it is legally required. It is essentially another form of taxation.
hard2miss
You don't seriously think anyone is going to come on here and say they drive with no insurance do you ? That's like worse than aggravated burglary now a days with the police. I would sooner stick my hand up to street robbery on here than say Im not insured, I bet they monitor the internet for stuff like that now. Unless you about 18 or have had a lot of accidents, I would say if you can afford to buy a car that costs hat much to inure then you should really have no issue paying for the insurance. I got a quote for a Ferrari a couple of weeks ago and that was £2200 and I have no no claims bonus.

Although a lot of people I grew up with do drive without insurance and get fined in the region of £250 about once a year. It's a bit of a joke.
