No one is allowed to carry a gun, not even off duty police officers yet street shootings are one of the highest in the nation. On the other hand the areas of the country where crime is lowest are those where carrying a gun is legal People in the USA must be more trustworthy than people in the UK then. If you put 100 people in a room with loaded guns who had never handled one before about ten of them would be dead or wounded after one day through shooting accidents.
