libuse
Theres a blog somewhere from someone who has eaten at every restaurant on London road. Thread made me very hungry. This one, I think? http://londonroadclock.blogspot.co.uk/ On London Road specifically, probably Zeugma for me, but if you stretch the rules a little and go onto the start of Abbeydale Road, then it has to be the place that was Dhanistha and is now Arusuvai. Really good food.
Nagel
London Road specialises in cheap and cheerful varieties of world cuisine. There's not a lot of true quality on offer, but there's plenty of good value tasty meals. But there's one place that does real quality and that's Thai Punna. Goooooogle
Noodle inn hotpot is really good. You order a broth type from about 4 choices and then tick off what you want to put in from a huge list of veg , fish and meat. I think it's about £15 per adult , half price for under 10's. It's all put on the table and you dunk it in the boiling soup to cook. More food than you can ever eat. Don't worry , the people working there are very helpful and will give you advice . Just don't bother with the BBQ and ice cream bit , we didn't think it was worth the extra and was a bit of a faff. (for BBQ go to to Ginseng in West one)
Unitedite
As a big fan of Vietnamese food my vote has to go to Little Hanoi. There are lots of good options tho - Urban Choola's probably my second favourite.

Phanerothyme
La Mama is a little further down on Abbeydale Road, and does a nice line in South American Tapas, and lovely lager from the continent too.
