Declaring attendance on a speed awareness course?

Recommended Posts

So those that have been caught going over the speed limit can't drive properly but the ones that have got away with it (so far) can? :hihi:

I agree with you on the other point. As I said earlier, you only have yourself to blame. Pay the fine, take the points and be more careful in future.

I love people who, responding to a post, say:

"So, what you are saying is......"

followed by a load of old trousers that bears no resemblance to what I said.

No, people who break the speed limit are not driving properly, it doesn't become safe just because you're not caught.

If I broke the speed limit I would not be driving safely.

If you're not driving safely that infers driving dangerously...if that's the case then why aren't all speeders prosecuted for that and not speeding? Seems the police have a different attitude to you.

Because dangerous driving can be many types of driver behaviour , speeding among them.

That's why drunk driving is prosecuted as such, rather than dangerous driving.

Dangerous driving is an offence in itself...if the police thought that just by being over the speed limit you were being dangerous they would charge and prosecute you accordingly...

Nope, there are a welter of traffic offences, just because drunk driving isn't prosecuted as dangerous driving doesn't mean drunk driving isn't dangerous!

That is silly talk.

The 30 mph limit was an arbitary figure plucked out of the air, as cars in the past were not safe above that speed.

Cable operated drum brakes all round, cross ply tyres, and no PAS or servo in any fashion.

With a modern car it is how you drive, not at what speed.

And regarding the telling your insurance company, you will just muddy the water.

You have not been prosecuted or fined in anyway.

You have paid for a one day educational course, and it is well worth the money.

If you were done at well over the speed limit, the course would not be offered
