Bowden housteads woods

Hi i have been told today that in bowden houstead woods there used to be a large public swimming baths? can anyone ever remember this as i have lived in handswoth nearly 50 years and used to play in the woods but never seen anything thanks

It was surrounded by pointed railway sleepers and was built by the Miners from Handsworth, the pool was fed by a stream and the water was ice cold summer and winter. I played in the woods in the middle 50s but it was empty and unused by then

we used to go tadpoling there in t 1950ts a stream used torun in to it

it was filled in to make way 4 the parkway rd about 1960
