The Labour party and the Fabian society("wolf in sheeps clothing")

Recommended Posts

Saying that New Labour has nothing to do with socialism isn't true.

The fabian society (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabian_Society) is a British intellectual socialist movement, whose purpose is to advance the principles of socialism via gradualist and reformist, rather than revolutionary, means. It has always been affiliated with the Labour movement, and today, the society is a vanguard think tank of the New Labour movement.

So during their time in government the Labour party was just waiting for the right time to unveil their socialist policies?

The word Fabian derives from a Roman general named Fabius, who used carefully planned strategies to slowly wear down his enemies over an extended period of time.

Check the international symbol for Fabian socialism http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_EgXqKP0XKGM/SgXmAmDzDWI/AAAAAAAAAn8/9ectKxaRwFg/s400/Fabian+tortoise.gif

So what? The Fabians have been around for donkeys years and I can't recall any marxist governments.

They probably have less influence on Labour than the Monday Club does on the Tories.

To be fair to the extent that New Labour is Socialist is a similar extent to that of the left in the Tory party and left of the LibDems who value a welfare state.

We live in a society that is a product of Socialist, Liberal and Capitalist strands of thinking.

The political debate most people recognise we should be having is how those strands of thought can work best together.

ShyTalk is displaying the total misunderstanding of our political culture and politics in general that is evident in all his other posts.

I've a good chuckle at your post Shy talk. Have you ever done vaudeville I wonder? :hihi:

I now look forward to hearing your conspiracy theories about the Socialist Education Association and the Socialist Health Association - both of which are also affiliated to the Labour Party.

Name one Socialist policy that New Labour passed whilst in Government.

I don't recall what they did to secure for the workers by hand or by brain the full fruits of their industry and the most equitable distribution thereof that may be possible upon the basis of the common ownership of the means of production, distribution and exchange, and the best obtainable system of popular administration and control of each industry or service.

The LibLabCon party is a Globalist Capitalist Neoliberal fusion of proxies designed to fool the gullible.

Someone once said that democracy was 2 foxes and a chicken voting on who was to be for dinner in reality the situation is a comic tragedy whereby 60 million foxes vote a couple of times a decade to be the dinner of 10 thousand vultures.

The gullible idiocy of the masses makes democracy the greatest political system in the world for those holding the reins of power.

The Bankster funded governments of the West may well be on a crusade for democracy to be extended globally however it is the idiot and the fool that believes this to be a philanthropic enterprise.
