Bassman62
They are Christian Countries are they not? First one on the list Brazil 74% Catholic, 15.4% Protestant The difference is whether they're practising Christians or Christians because they were christened. Most people in this country are usualy christend but very few follow the religion. It's as daft as saying WWII was a war mainly between Christian countries, the only major religion brought into WWII was Judism by the fascists, Christianity had nothing to do with WWII. Bassman62
Hmm !! Catholic - Protestant........ Did someone mention Christians killing each other ? Don't bring up that old chestnut again, the stupidity of comparing WWII to a religious war between christians has already been dissmissed as a poor attempt to excuse muslim barbarity in previous topics. Wildcat
You will be hard pressed to find misogyny in the teaching of Jesus who took the opposite view and protected women. The woman taken in adultery for example. It would be good if you confined your comments to those religions that actually practise misogyny. Thanks. It makes no difference my point is that it is culture not religion that causes honour killings. All religions are united in opposition to it. Where there are exceptions, they are not mainstream and down to cultural backwardness.
Grahame
Original sin It could have been either Adam or Eve, and both succumbed to temptation. The only misogyny is people like yourself who blame women.

I think the word you're trying for is 'misogyny' Grahame.

"it is culture not religion that causes honour killings" - seeing as these killings are taking place in mostly Islamic countries it would seem to imply that people in these countries are not following their religion or their religion is condoning this practice. If it is not religion, and you have just said it isn't then for goodness sake stop dragging Christianity into it. It is neither part of the Christian religion or Christian culture.
