plekhanov
And "apologism" is a disgusting word to use. How dare you claim I'm apologising for child abusers. That's foul. Liar, you know very well I never accused you of anything of the kind, what I am doing is accusing you of engaging in apologism for a Church which has and still does systematically enable the rape of children by paedophile priests. Patiently Explaining the media focus disproportionately on abuse carried out by catholics is NOT apologising for child abuse and I take very great exception to that claim. You really must stop this kind of language plekanhov It is not on at all. It is most offensive to the vast majority of Catholics, and is not doing you any favours at all. Out of interest, what form does your fight against child abuse take? Do you campaign and lobby against it or just bang on endlessly about the "child raping catholics" * *copyright Plekhanov. I explained the percentage of child abusers in the catholic church is no less or more than any other organisation. It's godawful and appalling, but not limited to the catholic church and not more common in the church than anywhere else. Yet only catholic abuse seems to attract your spittle-flecked posts.... sheffgrow
mods can we close this thread now seeing as how the pope has gone, i for one thought it was an inspirational visit, but due to plekhanov and the rest of his cronies it has basically turned into a thread that is offensive to every catholic on the planet

Jimmy, I dont want to fall out as we are both on the same political spectrum. However, I was born and confirmed as a Roman Catholic. It is difficult for me to have people slag The Pope off. I am socialist to the core, but also have deep feelings regarding other things.

Have you ever considered that it's the lack of action by the Catholic church when it knew of the problem within their ranks, that causes so much consternation?
