Plain Talker
Have you tried using another phone in the socket? If your call can be heard fine at the other end, on that phone, then chances are it's the phone at fault, if not, it'll be your line. it could be something as simple as a loose wire in the phone or socket. They're not that expensive, you can pick a simple one up for about 10/15 quid.
sandie
the house phone as a fault. it rings in and out, i can hear the other person but they cannot hear me. what could be the problem??? Your phone's mouthpiece is defective it has nothing to do with the BT line. Is your phone provided by BT if it is ask them to replace it, if not you need a new handset. One quick test is what they call blowback if you blow into the mouthpiece you should hear it in the earpiece if you do not then your mouthpiece is defective. Hope this helps
