Folks often reduce him to Dr Loomis in the Halloween films, one of his dullest roles. I recommend Cul-de-Sac or Soldier Blue for film buffs, and of course his performances in The Great Escape and You only live twice (on which Mike Myers based Dr Evil) for a rainy Sunday afternoon. He was pretty good in Soldier Blue. He was one of the first British actors to master an American accent, of course Gary Oldman did it, second nature,in later years.
