Donald Pleasance is perhaps the most underrated actor of his generation. Folks often reduce him to Dr Loomis in the Halloween films, one of his dullest roles. I recommend Cul-de-Sac or Soldier Blue for film buffs, and of course his performances in The Great Escape and You only live twice (on which Mike Myers based Dr Evil) for a rainy Sunday afternoon. Speaking of which...

Indeed he is!!!!

 

I love him in The Great escape (1963) and You only live twice (1967) -- Two of his best movies I think!

 

He was pretty good in Soldier Blue. He was one of the first British actors to master an American accent, of course Gary Oldman did it, second nature,in later years.
