Atheists fail to riot at threat to burn The God Delusion

Recommended Posts

Would the burner be arrested though? These people were http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-11396980 for burning a book. How can they be inciting racial hatred by burning a book? Are muslims a race now? Would it be inciting racial hatred if they burnt the bible or the book of mormon? Would they be inciting global haterd if they burnt every holy book?

Maybe it's just slack reporting, and they were done for inciting religious hatred.

Any STD clinic will tell you the same. Are they judgemental and bigoted as well?

Actually, the people most at risk are those whose partners are infected, unbeknown to them, so do not use condoms as they do not consider that they have a need to. There was some recent report highlighting that the over 50s were the most at risk group. Those who do have casual sex are aware of the risks and, therefore, informed enough to protect themselves.

Why don't you just go back to first principles?

Perhaps it's just the way that religions have evolved, in a manner that the meme can most successfully spread?

If the religious meme can convince the hosts that the very actions that are inevitable, pleasurable and natural, are also sinful and in need of the redemption services provided by said religion, then it will spread in ever increasing circles.

That's my theory anyway.

It also keeps the church is business, with endless ritual: christenings, first communications, confirmations etc etc.

The need to take precautions tells you all you need to know about the risks. As you very well know.

And the catholic church tells it's followers that they are not allowed. Therefore promoting unprotected sex.

Also, AIDS can be contracted through blood transfusions. Are you saying that Jehova's Witnesses are right to refuse transfusions based on the teachings of their religion?

Why don't you just go back to first principles?

What, like the Bonobo chimps?
